Getting your home ready to list in the winter months
Hi there,
Spring gets most of the attention, but winter can be a good time to sell. In many places fewer homes come on the market in the colder months, and the buyers who are out looking tend to be serious. A little preparation helps your home stand out.
Here’s where we’d start:

Make the way in easy. Keep walks and steps clear of snow and ice, put down a good doormat, and check that the outdoor lights work. First impressions start at the curb. |

Let the house feel warm. Set a comfortable temperature for showings, open the curtains for daylight, and turn on a few lamps late in the day. |

Have the heating checked. A recent furnace or boiler service gives buyers one less question, and it’s worth doing anyway. |

Clear the winter clutter. Boots, coats and gear pile up fast. Give them a tidy spot and keep hallways open. |

Plan your photos. Days are short, so we schedule photos for the best light. If you have pictures of the yard from warmer months, we can use those too. |
